Not all DX operators can use an IRC for the return postage for your QSL Card. In some countries the only post offices where the IRC can be exchanged are in the big cities hours away. Also, in some countries possession of US currency is a crime. The DX operator doesn't have a QSL Card Manager. So what do you do? Do you send a few green stamps (US dollars) and take the chance that your new friend might get arrested? Or do you send a IRC which means the only way to redeem the IRC is to take a road trip into the nearest post office.

A few Hams have taken it upon themselves to compile a list of countries and what their preferred unit of exchange should be. One of those lists is -HERE-.

If you are a QSL Manager or DX operator, I would really like to hear from you of what your preferred method of postage exchange is.
Email me: jerry at kd5om dot com. I am compiling my own list to be published soon.
